View over Lough Lein at the Lake Hotel Killarney |
This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting The Lake Hotel in Killarney as an anniversary treat. This has to be one of my favourite places to visit. It is so tranquil and beautiful. Often when we visit this part of the world we are plagued by the rainy version of Irish weather but, this time, we were blessed with glorious sunshine on our arrival. We dropped our things to our lake view room and went to get a drink and sit on the patio and enjoy this amazing view in great company.

This little haven on the edge of Lough Lein is beautiful and while I have not shown any photographs of the hotel I think the local scenery speaks for itself. This is a photographers paradise.
A short walk away from the hotel is Muckross Abbey nestled within Killarney National Park. Of course you can park nearby if you wish! This visit, there were so many people there it was difficult to grab a shot without someone's head or indeed their whole body appearing from one of the many passage ways.

Even when the clouds rolled in the view was still spectacular back at the lakeside.

And just when we thought all the deer were hiding from us, our quick visit to ladies view before we left presented us with two young deer by the roadside.
